Johannesburg's Fight Against Grid Collapse: Load Reduction Measures Implemented

City Power has rolled out load reduction measures in Johannesburg to prevent the grid from collapsing due to critical energy consumption. These measures involve remote switching of geysers, load reduction at high-consumption substations, and cutting off illegal connections across 80 areas in the city. The initiative comes after warnings about energy efficiency were disregarded, leading to increased evening energy demands.
